This is a special time at Blackbird. We've grown from 10 to more than 70 people in the last two years, and have just raised a billion dollar fund to deploy over the next couple of years. We've done a good job of scaling our systems and processes to keep up with our growth the last few years. Now we're building solid foundations for the next 100 Blackbirds, and we need your help.
We're on the lookout for someone to help shape the future of IT at Blackbird. This is an opportunity to get in at the ground floor and help us build a world leading IT setup. You will have a lot of autonomy and scope to make this role your own.
IT, or Information Technology, can mean different things, depending on the company or team you're in.
At Blackbird, IT covers a broad range of areas, including;
- Device management and compliance
- Software provisioning and administration
- Systems and processes
- Technical troubleshooting
- Automations and productivity
- Security and Privacy
- Office technology
You will be managing the day to day operations, whilst propelling us forward through upgrades and enhancements.
You'll be working closely with me, and have wide-ranging visibility across most teams. This is one of the best parts (in my opinion) about the role; working closely with a broad range of people. Not only is there a crazy high concentration of smart people in the room, they're also really lovely humans to spend time with.
There are plenty of perks too:
- Work from anywhere in Australia. We have great offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland if that's more your thing too.
- Flexible working conditions: whether it’s working from home or leaving early to pick up the kids from daycare or school.
- A generous learning and development budget.
- Unplugged weekends. Don't expect anyone to be on Slack in the evenings or on weekends.
